How can you send me a bill for an appointment I wasn’t there for? I told the lady when I checked out that I may be out of the country. Your office does not call/text patients to remind them of their appointments like EVERY other doctors office. Absolutely unacceptable!! I will not be back here after being a patient for over 7 years!!
I’ve been to this practice twice. As a manager of a healthcare facility myself, I felt the need to address and make potential patients aware of what goes on here. This first time I was seen at this practice it was for a rash I had that resembled poison ivy but I knew it wasn’t that so I figured I’d have it checked out. They were very accomodating to fit me in when all other offices in the area were booked out. I showed up, had no wait which was great! I was brought back by a friendly assistant. The doctor came in looked at the rash and diagnosed me right on the spot. She said I’d need a prescription and it would take a couple months to clear up. I asked plenty of questions and nothing really seemed to make sense. I went to pick up my prescription hours later which was never called in as they said they would; it was Friday and after 2 so they were closed. By the time I got my prescription, days later, the rash was gone. Yes the one that would take months to clear up. So I went back a couple weeks later for my complete full body exam. The assistant came and got me; again no wait. First thing I noticed, the super strong perfume. That’s a no no in healthcare as many people are sensitive to that. Second, they gave me a sheet to cover my body while in the exam room. The doctor came in, and left the door wide open while waiting for her assistant, I felt so violated as people outside of the room were looking at me. They found moles they wanted to remove and biopsy, I agreed. I felt the doctor and assistants bedside manner wasn’t great. Not personable, no compassion, they seemed rushed. I don’t even know the doctor I saw, one assistant said that doctor Benitez would be right in but she was not the woman in the picture on their website that says she is De. Benitez. They all me a week later and said they should go in and take more of the area out as it has moderate cells in it which could cause cancer. I didn’t feel comfortable with them so i got my pathology reports and records and I got a second opinion by a highly recommended, great dermatologist in Chapel Hill. They said I did not need to do that, only if after 18 months the mole returned or I had strange pigmentation. Now, a really long story short...there is a reason why they can fit you in so soon and a reason why they try to get insurance monies and push procedures on you that you don’t need. Their customer service and bedside manner needs real improvement. Lastly, while reviewing my chart notes the doctor stated they went over things with me that they did not and did things they did not do, total fraud. The cut and paste feature with writing exam notes I find doesnt work well, especially when it’s not adjusted to what actually happened in the exam room. I won’t be going back to this practice nor will I recommend anyone here.
What you can be sure of is CONSISTENT incompetence time after time. Plan on waiting every time for 45 minutes to an hour because they will tell you that they will book up to 3 appointments at a time. EVERYTIME we went (went for 6 consecutive months) they failed to call in the prescription so I made countless trips to the pharmacy. You will never get an apology or even the courtesy of a return phone call. If you make an appointment first thing in the morning you may find yourself waiting to get in the office as the staff is consistently late. Finally, the receptionist has a real chip on her shoulder and is rude. I have never dealt with a more discourteous and unhelpful office staff as I have here. Save yourself a headache and go elsewhere.
